“It takes either deep desperation, or great boredom, for a masterpiece to be born. Either pure luck, or pure weird, too.”

“No pure genius?”

“We called it genius because it was so weirdly different that most of our minds couldn't even think of it.”

“Hm...borrowing your way to express things; that's a weirdly interesting way to look at it.”

“Call me pure genius. Lol.”

“Meh. Lol.”

“Any act to generalize the point of view of an art and or artist/artisan is actually killing the layers of intimacy between the creator and the art lover.

I prefer to seek, understand and experience the connection with each one, by my own, and taking it as the journey of life.

That connection that with time will become a bound, and to experience it fully, is like a la petite mort.

That's to me, and I agree to disagree. Art is one to each own anyway.”

I remember one of my penpals wrote me on one of her letters back then, “We, Europeans, are the master of celebrating sadness. We dig deep into it, appreciate the beauty in it, and celebrate it eloquently.”

I couldn't help thinking of those sentences when I saw the burlesque and cabaret shows. The performers smiled all the time, being energetic and all, but actually most of the songs that they performed, ... were sad songs.

“If you know something is impossible to be happened, will you move on and get along, or will you bet and wait / have faith?”

“Depends on what makes it impossible. People confuse impractical with impossible, so we need to rule out impracticals. Then we need to rule out what we don't accept. Like, landing on moon tomorrow for me is impractical. Becoming a girl for me is possible, but I won't accept it, so it is out, too. Then there are things which are not in our hands so we assume them impossible. Then comes things which we can do with perseverance if we keep going, but we believe them to be impossible, just like how you said that you can't be a pro photographer. :P”

“Some photos are meaningful not because of the object. Sometimes it was about the moment. When did we take it? What did we feel at that very moment? Why did we wanna memorize that moment? Who do we wanna show it to? How do we expect that person to feel or react when he/she sees it? Some other times, some photos are meaningful because we know someone will feel very happy to receive and see it. Because we were remembering that person when we took it. And sometimes, they hold some feelings that we couldn't say out loud.”

“That's from the photographer's point of view. Yet do you know why the one who receive them feel happy? Even just to see some random meaningless scene? From the viewer's point of view?”

“Hm...tell me?”

“Because those pictures show a glimpse of the photographer's days, which the viewer wasn't able to share with. Or a glimpse of how the photographer see the world, which is very different from the viewer's point of view. Those pictures freezed the time and the memories. And sometimes, they gave space to some feelings that we wanna make sure of. :)”

“:)”

“One common question that commoners usually asked me was, ‘How can you point one artwork has a soul and the rest not?’

It is simple. The one that has soul will catch your attention in miliseconds, make you hold your breath, and stays in your memory for a long (if not very long) time. The longer it stays means you have a collector item to grab fast.

What usually catch my attention is
