The Longer I Stay
“It's good that we're still arguing after all these times. Means there are still things that we want to improve from our relationship. Means we have high hopes on us. Means we evolve and didn't just stuck or gave up on circumstances.
However, there are few downsides of being together for so long and being too familiar with each other that we need to really be careful about.
First, it becomes too easy for us to skip the small changes that progressing on each of us. Just like how we noticed changes easily on someone we haven't met for few years vs someone we met regularly.
This could be dangerous, since it could belittling every effort that we put to evolve, which lead us to take things for granted and being ungrateful to each other.
Secondly, it becomes too easy for us to wave and disrespect each other in many ways, since we thought we will always be forgiven. Because we thought, it will always be the same and nothing would change. Because we thought one small mistake means nothing compared to our so many years journey.
That might be true if the mistake was the main problem. But that would be a different story if it was about how you make someone feel about his/herself.”
“I won't leave because I stop loving you. But I will surely leave when the longer I stay, the less I love myself.”
